I am a sound designer, composer, audio producer, editor and musician. For over 20 years I have worked in collaboration with arts organisations and individual artists to create bespoke audio and soundtracks for theatre, art projects, outdoor spectacles and improvised performances.
I compose in a wide range of styles including electronica, atonal, experimental, orchestral, rock and pop, often using Cubase, Ableton Live and Max MSP as my main compositional and sound design tools. I have extensive experience working with companies who devise their shows and have developed a flexible and open working approach to the creative process. I enjoy having the opportunity to work in new ways, exploring a variety of music styles and techniques often using traditional instruments and natural sound that can then be warped and processed to produce new sounds.
I have recently started a journey into the world of immersive audio working with a writer to produce a binaural audio experience incorporating storytelling, music and sound design. This is an area that I will be developing further.
I regularly work with Periplum on projects ranging from large scale outdoor spectacles, to audio experiences in intimate and unusual settings and also site-specific work. I also work with Walk the Plank, Tmesis Theatre, Teatro Pomadoro, Altered Scale/Petite Ullaloom, Movema, Bicycle Ballet and Liverpool Museums on various indoor and outdoor projects. I have performed live improvised pieces for Tmesis Theatre, Mary Pearson and Mandy Romero.
